Petitgrain Pure Essential Oil

 

 

Species: Citrus aurantium Var.aurantium

Origin: Paraguay

Extraction Process : Steam distilled

Perfume Note : Top

 

Extraction Description : Oil obtained from the leaves, twigs and unripe fruit of the bitter orange tree. It used to be distilled from little unripe oranges hence 'petitgrain' - 'little grains'. Obtained from the same tree that Neroli is extracted from.

Scent Description : Bittersweet odour. Fresh, flowery light perfume with woody herbaceous undertones. Similar to Neroli.

 

Petitgrain Essential Oil. Petitgrain resembles Neroli . Aids relaxation. Useful for the 'Winter Blues'. Good pick-me-up and tonic. Uplifting and refreshing. Useful for oily skins. Good for oily dandruff (put 2 drops in final rinse after shampooing greasy hair).

 

Historically used in perfumery and skin care.

Base Products

40-80% esters; mainly linalyl acetate and geranyl acetate, linalol, nerol, terpineol, geraniol, nerolidol, farnesol, limonene among others.
