New Caledonia

Extraction Process : Steam Distillation

Perfume Note : Strong middle & base notes.

 

Extraction Description : 

The volatile obtained by the steam distillation of the heartwood of the tree. Extracted from plantation grown trees. sweet, woody, persistence.

Scent Description : Woody rounded and sweet.

 

 

This variety of Sandalwood comes from a sustainable plantation and is harvested ethically.

　

Sandalwood Vanuatu is one of the most useful Essential Oils. It's soluble in most fixed oils and a good fixative in blends as it is long lasting.

　

It has soothing properties - great to use on dry skin and scalp - but also useful for oily skin due to its astringent properties.

　

It is also reputed to be a good stress releasing oil. Use with one our wide range of Vaporisers or try adding to  Plain Bath Oil for your own bespoke and luxurious bath preparation.

　

It's bactericidal properties make it useful in teenage skin preparations but it is most useful in men's preparations - in aftershave for example.

　

Please note that Sandalwood Mysore is now a protected species and is no longer available on the open market. Sandalwood Vanuatu is the ethical and slightly less expensive alternative with no compromise on scent and quality.

About 90% santalols, 6% sesquiterpene hydrocarbons; santene, teresantol, borneol,santalone, tri-cyclo-ekasantalal, among others.

DILUTE TO 5% OR LESS IN A CARRIER OIL BEFORE SKIN APPLICATION. KEEP OUT OF EYES. DO NOT SWALLOW.
